Students who qualify for this grant will get $750 on their first year of college and $1300 on the succeeding year.

$650 Million in Education Grants Awarded

Teach for America

The KIPP Foundation and Teach for America who both operate charter schools around the nation were each awarded $50 million in a competition held by the Department of Education.

The total competition had $650 million in grant dollars to award. Other recipients included The Success for All Foundation receiving $49 million, and Ohio State University received $46 million to train 3,750 teachers who work with under-privileged first grade children.
